I have such a passion for candles and after researching candles I was buying, I was truly horrified to find out that most candles on the high street and designers use paraffin wax. If you don't know what paraffin wax is, I urge you to research it. But it is possibly one of the most toxic things you can burn, and is really unsafe for us, babies and pets to be breathing in. Paraffin wax is made from petroleum and has also been found to contain carcinogens, such as benzene, which is a cancer-causing agent. A lot of the big companies have begun mixing paraffin wax with soy wax, so it can be classified as "soy-blend", but the majority of wax is paraffin. This wax can be found in the majority of high street candles, supermarket candles and all high end candles. The oils that they use are also very low quality, not necessarily in their scent strength, but in the flammability of the oil. Please do research paraffin wax and be really careful where you buy your next candle from, if it's not tmcc.

I began the minnie candle co in January 2021, because every candle I was burning and every wax melt I was melting, was not strong enough and the candles kept leaving stubborn soot marks around the edge of the candle. I have carefully curated my candles and sought out specific suppliers who offer only cruelty free fragrance oils and can provide a specific soy wax. My candles are high quality and are designed with you in mind. I take great pride in my products and would encourage you to give them a go if you have candles in your home. My business is so special to me and it is sometimes a struggle, but I will keep going, even if it's just for myself, because I believe in my candles and I am yet to find a candle that competes with my scent strength.

All my candles are vegan and toxic free. They are the safest around babies and animals (at a height, as the flame is not safe!). But you can trust, that with my candles, your babies (and fur babies) will not be breathing in any toxic fumes. I also use cotton wicks dipped in soy wax and all my fragrances are from PETA approved companies. I am also CLP compliant and all my products will contain a CLP label and I also send out my own candle safety cards with every order.

Lets get a bit more personal..

I am 35 years old and married to my childhood best friend. We have a house together with our fur babies. We have a dog named Teddy, a cat named Felix and our rabbit Minnie, who unfortunately passed away in July 2023. The minnie candle co was renamed to include her name, as she was the most special little house bun.

My husband plays ice hockey for the Peterborough Phantoms, so candle making helps fill the gaps for when he is not home (and that is a lot of the time!).
